The Ring Magazine was establish in 1922 and the slogan on the website says “The Bible of Boxing”. Having several owners and editors throughout the years it has been a stalwart publication of the world of boxing. The Ring magazine has a ratings panel consisting of 33 journalists from as many publications and boxing news websites. The ratings panel recognizes the King of each division. Kelly Pavlik is universally recognized as the King of the Middleweight Division, subsequently he also gets that recognition from Ring Magazine. He's been on the cover of their monthly publication 4 times in the last year, as well as the cover of their 2008 Almanac.
